About this program
As manufacturing equipment becomes more advanced and complex, trained and skilled technicians are needed. As an industrial electrician, you may perform a variety of functions related to electrical controls, equipment, and wiring in an industrial plant or worksite. Your work may involve testing, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of the electrical components. In addition, you may read and interpret blueprints and specifications, as well as remain current on electrical code specifications for the area.The Industrial Electrical Technician Short-Term Certificate program will provide an introduction to the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and other mechanical systems. You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to the Industrial Electrical Technician One-Year Certificate or the Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology - Industrial Electrical Technician.
