Embarking on the nautical journey of Marine Service Technology I, students are immersed in a comprehensive exploration of watercraft service and marina operations. Rooted in the esteemed National Marine Trades Curriculum crafted by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC), this introductory course lays the foundation for a mastery of marine trade skills. Students navigate the seas of workplace and boating safety, inboard and outboard systems, carpentry, electricity, and the intricacies of vessel storage and handling.As the nautical odyssey continues into Marine Service Technology II, students ascend to the next echelon of expertise in the service and repair of watercraft and marina operations. Building upon the foundation laid in the introductory course, students acquire entry-level proficiency in a broader spectrum of marine trade skills. From inboard and outboard systems to carpentry, fiberglass construction and repair, electricity, welding, and the nuanced art of vessel storage and handling, students become adept navigators of the marine service landscape.
